2024 will be better than 2023

2023 was a year of unique experiences and endless lessons.

I know all of you reading this would have had different journeys this year – by extension, different experiences.

Certain things stood out the most to all of us unanimously.

Certain events shaped the present and future of the world.

But what’s the most certain is that all of you would have your own “Year in Rewind” videos going on inside your minds where you’d remember everything good and bad that happened this year.

Every year ends on a note that the next one will be a better one.

And even though that’s a very optimistic approach to life, I know that certain high performers really don’t look at the world that way.

This is especially true when you’re building something extraordinary – be it a business or a hustle for yourself.

So in this ethos and occasion of (almost) New Year’s, I figured I’d share a story with you to give you more context about this phenomenon called ‘time’.

Growing up, I was one of those blokes who wanted to experience every phase of life.

My 20s were only to bag experiences and keep learning about people and things. And I exactly did that.

I travelled to different countries, went through different cultures, and met tons of people along the way.

During this time, I had a simple and single goal – to explore the ins and outs of life.

Neither was I super worried about what next.

Nor about what my minor and major goals in life were.

Time was relative during this period. If it was an occasion, it was a reason for celebration and getting together with people. New Year was New Year. It wasn’t a time to reflect on life and plan ahead.

And with the same momentum, I decided to step into the next chapter of my life where I started my own business.

Now even though I have very much settled down in life and made calculated moves with myself as well as my business, I also, very much, will emphasize the fact that when you’re going in life at such a pace, TIME DOESN’T MATTER.

Most of the high performers reading this will be like, “Yes, I relate to Arsalan!”

And rightfully so, every high performer thinks the same way that time doesn’t really matter when you’re building something.

Most times, you’re only able to keep track of time with the holidays and events like New Year’s. And that’s your only reminder most days about how time is going by.

But that’s exactly what you need when you’re in go-mode. This is something I touched upon in my last newsletter when I was talking about how entrepreneurship most times involves inevitable sacrifices of time and relationships.

This is why I say that the upcoming year is going to be much better than the current one. Because we’re always optimistic about the future.

And to help you prepare for the same, I will share some tips to help you prepare for the new year!

Here you go:

  1. Reflect on the Past Year: Consider your achievements, challenges, and lessons learned. This reflection can help you set goals and intentions for the coming year.
  2. Set Realistic Goals: Outline your goals for the upcoming year. Make them specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). Set minor and major milestones for yourself.
  3. Declutter Your Space: Start the New Year with a clean and organized environment. Declutter your living and working spaces to create a fresh and positive atmosphere.
  4. Health and Fitness Check: Assess your health and fitness goals. Consider incorporating regular exercise, a balanced diet, and sufficient sleep into your routine for a healthier lifestyle.
  5. Connect with Loved Ones: Reach out to friends and family to strengthen your connections. Consider planning gatherings or virtual meetings to celebrate the New Year together.

Finally, prepare for new beginnings. Spend this week with your loved ones and make the most of this time.

And if you want to start optimizing yourself before you enter the next year, I recommend you book a call with me and let me help you manage your stress levels, achieve your maximum potential, and perform at the top of your game.

What better way to celebrate your holidays than to gift yourself a better version of yourself, right?
